Privacy Policy — sbox

Last updated: 2026-07-09

sbox has no server and no cloud. It does not collect, analyze, or send your data anywhere — not even to the developer.

What does sbox do with your data?

The text, images and files you share travel directly between your PC and your phone, over your own WiFi network. They never pass through an external server or the internet: if both devices aren't on the same network, sbox simply doesn't work.

None of this is kept for analysis purposes — it's a clipboard, not a history log. Received files land in your normal Downloads folder, just like anything you'd download by hand.

What is stored on the device?

Only local settings (device name, text size, preferences) and the "trusted" devices you've paired, so it doesn't ask for the pairing code every time. All of this stays on your own device — you can forget a trusted device at any time from Settings.

Permissions

On Android, sbox uses local network access to find and connect to your PC over WiFi, storage access to save received files to your Downloads folder, and a foreground-service notification to keep the connection alive while the app is in the background. None of these are used to collect or transmit data anywhere beyond the device you paired.

No accounts, no tracking

There is no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party permissions.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change too. Given how sbox works, changes are expected to be rare.
